The Haskell Opera House offers you many ways to be involved in the arts, whether you're interested in volunteering five hours per week or per month, or only once a year.

The Haskell Opera House (HOH) needs you - and you - and you....

We're recruiting a team of volunteers to ensure all of our amazing performing arts programming is the best it can be for audiences and artists alike..

There is a lot to do. Fill in the application form online and join our team !

Looking for:

Green Team Volunteers - Will be in charge of recycling and waste management - before, during and after each event. And eventually it would be really cool if we could have a Bike Valet program for people interested in cycling to the Haskell Opera House. We want to be a Green Performing Arts Destination.

Lighting, Sound & Stage Tech Support Volunteers - Assists production staff with set-up, strike and other sound/lighting needs. Physically fit. Not fazed by heights or cramped spaces. Interview required. Stage work is exciting, pressurized and very time sensitive – during concerts changeovers are done in less than 15 minutes.

Media and Publicity Volunteers - Photography: Documents the event with photos. Interview and portfolio required. Videography: Documents the event with video. Interview and portfolio required.

Door Volunteers - the first HOH representatives that patrons will see when they come to a show. Their smile and pleasant demeanor will set the tone for the event.

Artist Liaison Volunteers - Supports the artists before, during and after performances. 18+ years old. Interview is required.

Ushers - Ushers distribute programs. Help patrons find their seats. Assist people with priority seating needs. Ask patrons to close gaps in seating. Manage aisles as necessary. Identify and respond to emergencies in the 'house'.

First aid & Security Rovers - Available to respond within the HOH for any medical/security emergencies. They are here to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the HOH in a safe and secure manner. Current American Red Cross or Canadian Red Cross or state/provincial EMS certification, a police background check and an interview is required.

Box Office Volunteers are responsible for checking purchased tickets, selling and exchanging tickets, overseeing will call and guest lists, and monitoring re-entry and capacity. Money handling experience. Police background check required.
